DIATOMACEOUS EARTH (DE)
FOSSIL SHELL FLOUR® OMRI
Food grade DE (diatomaceous earth) is an anti-caking agent and source of silica. Fossil Shell Flour® is Perma-Guard Company's name for diatomaceous earth capable of meeting the many needs of our domestic animals,birds and their environment.
Most animal feeds has sticky substance in them such as molasses, tending to cause feed particles to 'clump' together. This increases the chance of mold growth in the feed. Today, much feed is thrown away because of mold. However when Fossil Shell Flour® at a 2% mix at 40# per ton of complete feed, it coats the feed particles and keeps it flowing smoothly, reducing mold growth ability. By increasing the digestibililty of feed and decreasing amounts thrown away.Satisfied users of DE report of many more side benefits such as a safe organic insect control product. Sprinkle over manure it will keep flies off.
